Hangar Obert 2026: Barcelonas Art Production Centre Opens Its Studios for One...

On Saturday 19 September, Hangar opens its doors. The whole building, studios, wetlab and all, becomes public for one day. Resident artists, resident projects and community members open up their working spaces and show what they research and make. It happens every year, and it is free.

Hangar is a production and research centre for the arts in Poblenou, Barcelona. It started in 1997 as a space, and since 2003 it is managed by Fundació Privada AAVC, a private foundation with public grants behind it. The centre runs a programme of long and short stays for artists, keeps a wetlab for bioart, and offers production workshops for hardware, software and electronics.
