MIRA 2026: Barcelona's fifteenth digital arts festival schedules an AV-heavy lineup

MIRA, the digital arts and contemporary music festival, returns to Barcelona for its fifteenth edition on November 6 and 7, 2026, at Fira Montjuïc. Since 2011 it has been one of the city's anchor events for audiovisual and generative work, and this year's lineup keeps that thread running.

The programme crosses live audiovisual shows, concerts, performances, art installations, immersive screenings, virtual reality and DJ sets. The names span the current wave of artists who build their work directly from code and signal. Ryoichi Kurokawa brings an audiovisual piece where sound, image and time unfold as architecture in motion, with field recordings and digital structures converging into what he describes as a living sculpture. Max Cooper, who has spent years working at the intersection of art and science, presents a live show where sound and image run in parallel and emotion and structure pull against each other.

The rest of the bill is similarly on the generative side. Daito Manabe, the Japanese programmer and choreographer known for turning code into physical movement, teams with Nosaj Thing for a live audiovisual set. Fennesz & Lillevan perform Endless Summer as a live AV show. Space Afrika, Grand River and Shygirl round out the electronica and club end, while Tortoise and Machine Girl keep the live-band thread alive. The lineup reads like a survey of where computation has moved into performance.

For anyone working in creative tech, generative art or audiovisual code, this is the local event to put in the calendar. Barcelona does not often get this concentration of artists who treat software as an instrument and a canvas in one weekend. It is worth crossing town for.
